EU Policies and Standardisation

Policy compliance ensured that the E4Water developments were in conformity with and contributed to the conformity with European policies. Ensuring this compliance increases the acceptance of new solutions to be applied in practice. Especially via Cefic it was ensured that the E4Water results feed into the next BREF update for chemical industry. Read more under “Policy”.

Regarding Standardisation E4Water has elaborated the CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) “Sustainable Integrated Water Use & Treatment in Process Industries (SustainWATER)”. The document ensures that the best practice experiences out of E4Water on how to come to a sustainable and integrated water management was combined in a clear way. The CWA remains after the project. It was announced and distributed via CEN and all national standardization bodies. The CWA is thus a non-binding best practice document that industry can refer to. Read more under “CEN Workshop
