Technological reduction and management of risks associated with advanced loop closure
Lead by VITO, Belgium (case studies 4, 5)
The objectives were:
to define and improve technologies to enable recycling of wash waters as raw materials into the process without any significant impact on the performance of the products, and reducing any micro-biological contamination to safe levels.
to improve the closure of the cooling water loop in the petrochemical industry.
to transfer treatment technologies for process streams from other sectors (food, chemistry) to water sector.
the development of an innovative and integrated ‘Low Liquid Discharge’ alternative to conventional ‘Zero liquid discharge’ systems that are based on evaporation technologies.
This project has received funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 280756.
